AGNIHOTRA
(Leider vorerst nur in Englisch)
3. Effekt on Environment, Mind,
Medicine and Agriculture |
(From Shreekant, the son of
Shree) |
|
| Agnihotra is a scientific process of
purification of the atmosphere with the agency of cosmic element - FIRE. It is ordained by
Vedas, the ancient most treasure of scientific knowledge belonging to the entire humanity.
AGNIHOTRA creates pure nutritional and medicinal atmosphere and prevents growth of
pathogenic bacteria. The subtle vibrations emanating from AGNIHOTRA fill the surrounding
atmosphere with vibrations of love, peace and purity. As the atmosphere and mind are
interlinked, the individuals coming in contact with the Agnihotra-Atmosphere automatically
experience relaxation, peace, unburdening of mind and loss of worries and stress. It sets
in motion a >Healing-cycle< in a household or the place where AGNIHOTRA is
performed. It has a calming, soothing effect on children. |
|
| AGNIHOTRA is an excellent method of practising
natural and ecological farming. Its purifying effect makes plants happy, healthy and
disease-resistant. Animal life too is benefitted in its vicinity. Regular performance of
AGNIHOTRA helps rebalance the disturbed ecological cycles. AGNIHOTRA purifies the water
reservoirs. It has also been experienced that the AGNIHOTRA-ASH is extremely medicinal and
can be used as nutrition to plants. |
|
AGNIHOTRA is ordained to be
performed daily by everyone who wishes to be happy and prosperous irrespective of
consideration like religion, creed, class, colour, nationality, age, sex etc. AGNIHOTRA
truly is a saviour because universally it is the answer to all problems posed by the
polluted world of the present day. The performance of AGNIHOTRA involves following simple
disciplines: |
1. Time: |
AGNIHOTRA is to be performed exactly at local
sunrise and sunset timings. (These timings can be asked for at the below addresses)
|
|
2. AGNIHOTRA-POT: A specific
semi-pyramid shaped copper or clay vessel. |
|
3. OFFERINGS: |
Two offerings of raw rice smeared with cow's
pure ghee are offered at each AGNIHOTRA time.A pinchful of unbroken raw rice grains
smeared with two or three drops of cow's ghee makes one offering.
|
|
4. MANTRAS:
Two small Sanskrit
mantras are chanted along with the offerings.

|
|
5. FIRE: |
A small fire is prepared in the AGNIHOTRA-POT using dry
cowdung cakes. For igniting this fire use of gasolene, petrol etc. is strictly prohibited.
|
|
| 6. WHO CAN PERFORM: |
Any member of the family at a time and others (neighbours,
friends, children etc.) may participate by sitting around and enjoying the same. The
beneficial effects of the process of AGNIHOTRA sets in motion various scientific
principles such as effect of specific circadian rhythms on body and mind of the living
organism and atmosphere, cosmic and healing vibrations emanating from the semi-pyramid
shape, effect of copper metal, soothing and relaxing effect of specific organic substances
offered in the fire and so on. Even though simple, cheap and easy to practise the spheres
of activity of AGNIHOTRA are unfathomable.
|
|
| Regular practise of AGNIHOTRA in a household
ushers in joy and benefits of the most comforting kind. AGNIHOTRA purifies the atmosphere
and fills it with nutrients. It acts as a catalytic agent in resetting the cycles of
nature for attaining the necessary equilibrium and harmony. It has a tranquilising effect
on the mind. It unburdens your mind from the vagaries of stress and strain and instils in
it a feeling full of love. It makes you an ideal member of your community. |
|
| AGNIHOTRA has a marked beneficial effect on
children. It sets a positive discipline in the family binding all the individuals
together. It sets in motion a >Healing-cycle< which brings joy and peace in your
home, showering love on each and everyone. AGNIHOTRA heals the atmosphere and thus is
useful for plants and animals. It has been found to be effectively useful in drug and
alcohol de-addiction programmes. It is also useful for hyper-active children. It has a
pronounced bacteriostatic effect. It controls the growth of bacteria. |
|
| It has been experienced that its residual ash
is of great medicinal value. It is being used as an adjunct in >Natural Farming<. It
is noticed that the crop obtained is healthy, qualitatively superior and free from harmful
residues of chemical fertilizers and pesticides. |
|
| AGNIHOTRA-ASH purifies water. Its external
application heals body wounds. It is an experienced fact that Agnihotra- Atmosphere is
very good and encouraging for practising spiritual disciplines. |
|
| This list is merely indicative and not
axhaustive. The beneficial aspects of AGNIHOTRA are multi-dimensional. Need for a
positively effective remedy like AGNIHOTRA is being felt everywhere. As a result
innumerable people all over the world are practising AGNIHOTRA today. They are enjoing its
tremendous benefits in their day to day life. Sustenance for them has become possible in
this strife-torn world. |
|
| To assess and evaluate the multidimensional
benefits of AGNIHOTRA various surveys and experiments are conducted. Synopses of a few of
them are as follows: |
|
| Effect of Agnihotra-Atmosphere on pathogenic
microflora: Performance of AGNIHOTRA has bacteriostatic effect on the atmosphere. Extracts
of the recent study conducted in Pune/India are reproduced below. |
|
Discussion on
Results of Reduction in Pathogenic Bacteria |
|
| Reduction in bacteria can be attributed either
to bactericidal or bacteriostatic effect. Bactericidal effect of fumes of AGNIHOTRA has
been ruled out since the performer of ritual also inhales these gases. If these fumes also
kill individual natural microflora then it is of no advantage to individual and with
continuous performing of AGNI- HOTRA, his/her health should deteriorate. But the
experience is totally opposite. Gerneral observation is health of Agnihotri [he or she who
performs AGNIHOTRA] improves day by day. Therefore it concludes that gases evolved during
AGNIHOTRA and subsequent chain of reactions do not have bactericidal effect and they do
not act in antibiotic style destroying good and bad bacteria. Concurrently: Substancial
reduction in bacterial counts only infer that the gases of AGNIHOTRA inhibit the toxic
secretion of pathogenic bacteria and thus their productivity is considerably reduced. It
is interesting to mention that tests were taken fortyfive minutes after AGNIHOTRA in the
evening, which proves that atmosphere remained fully active even after fortyfive minutes
and it can remain active fur further time also as AGNIHOTRA is to be performed every day
at sunrise and sunset. |
|
Conclusions and
Suggested Application of Finding in Medicine: |
|
| From series of experimental work, it is clear
that AGNIHOTRA has the capability to bring about changes in environment and reaching a new
ecological balance and this new environmnent generated is stable and most inhibitory to
multiple growth of bacteria. The pathogenic Staphylococcus, which is the most resistant
bacterium commonly found, does not survive in the AGNIHOTRA-ATMOSPHERE and the reduction
in the number is consistant. There is also a possibility of changes in the biological
prosperities of this organism. Since Staphylococcus the most resistant organism, which is
getting reduced, the other virulent organisms may also get inhibited in the AGNIHOTRA-
ATMOSPHERE. In crowded localities of Pune and Bombay Staphylococcus is a commonly seen
pathogenic bacterium disease forming and difficult to eliminate with normal medical
treatment. Consistant reduction have paved a new way of application of AGNIHOTRA in
medicinal microbiology. The elementary study so far done have suggested a new way in
contrast to traditional formaline fumigation and if rigorous analysis under critical
parameters being carried out many doctors and eminent practioners in the field of medicine
are of the opinion that AGNIHOTRA ist an effective and cheap source of healing the
atmosphere. Some of applications suggested are as under: |
|
1. In rural health centres and labour
rooms where clinical and hygiene conditions are not up to the desired standard AGNIHOTRA
may create sterile safe work and more users friendly at a very cheap rate.
|
2. AGNIHOTRA may be useful to improve the
health of chronic patients.
|
3. It may be useful to eradicate diseases
of respiratory infections.
|
4. An eminent doctor (Dr.K.S.Lodha) of
Anand Medical Foundation is of the view that after operation he had to administer heavy
antibiotics to patients since their resistance power being low are liable to get attacked
even with minor infections. AGNIHOTRA can save the cost of antibiotics and one can also
avoid after-effect of antibiotics.
|
5. He has further stated that this
technique is useful to check cross infections.
|
6. Other few doctors are of the opinion
that healing atmosphere of AGNIHOTRA may be useful for patients undergoing treatment on
AIDS since this sterile atmosphere during treatment.
|
| 7. The "Institute for Studies in
Vedic Science" maintains and believes that AGNIHOTRA is useful to purify the
surroundings of millions and millions of under previleged society who due to their fragile
economic condition is forced to live in unhygienic conditions most detrimental to their
health. AGNIHOTRA can prevent many of their ills being most cheapest, natural and locally
available alternative. |

AGNIHOTRA
& AGRICULTURE |
|
| Release of Phosphates with
Agnihotra-Ash |
| AGNIHOTRA is found to release soluble phosphate
from soil. In a personal communication, Tung Ming, a chemist from USA, has found that
Agnihotra-Ash when mixed with soil increases the soluble phosphates. The work was done in
January 1987: 0.10g of Agnihotra-Ash were shaken with 25ml of water for 48 hours and water
soluble phosphates measured. The same amount of Agnihotra-Ash was mixed with two different
soils; 5g soil from Colorado and 25ml. water was mixed and shaken for 48 hours.
Conclusions based on the average duplicate values: Obviously the Agnihotra-Ash helps soil
to release 'p'. Agnihotra-Ash has distinctly very significant effects. It is, therefore,
necessary to investigate and test what other nutrients are deriveable from soil with the
help of Agnihotra-Ash. The above findings are further supported and strengthened by latest
study carried out in Andhra Pradesh Agriculture University. Actual yield of sunflower was
recorded in pot culture experiments. Andhra Pradesh Agriculture University-Scientists
comment: |
|
1. Responses of sunflower for
Agnihotra-Ash and Non-Agni-Ash may be due to their Nitrogen Phosphorous and Zinc
contents.
|
| 2. The higher response obtained when
compost and ash are added together may be due to synergetic effect. |

 |
Homa Farming is holistic
healing for agriculture and it can be added to any organic farming practice. Intensive
farming practices, however, seem to be the most productive and practical. Homa Farming
practices are used in treating the atmosphere, the soil, plants and to prevent/treat pest
and disease problems. One can grow maximum yield out of minimum agricultural area and keep
the soil fertile, water pure and the atmosphere nutritious by practicing Homa Therapy

AGNIHOTRA and
ALCOHOL DE-ADDICTION
|
|
| A pilot survey on a few alcohol addicts from
places like Aurangabad, Hyderabad (India) who were successful in getting rid of the
devastating habit merely by practising AGNIHOTRA or just by being in its atmosphere, was
conducted by Mr. S.P. Kallurkar. This study supplements earlier findings of
Lt.Col.G.R.Golechha who tested the effect of AGNIHOTRA on 18 cases. |
|
| DISCUSSION: |
|
The case histories narrated here throw light on
the following points:
|
1. All the subjects have been addicted to
alcohol for a long time.
|
2. They were attracted to alcohol either due to
curiosity, environment or to cope up with the pressures of work.
|
3. The family situation in all households was
miserable and a large part of their income was being spent on the vice.
|
| 4. In the case of A, B and C we find that they
had will to quit the habit and even hat put some efforts in that direction. |
Due to bad health A was
strongly advised by a doctor to stop drinking. In the case of B and C we find that they
had resorted to religious practices like japa, religious worships or even consuming
holy vibhuti. We can see that in all cases the subjects were just not able to resist the
temptation and continued with the habit. 5. In the cases of almost all subjects the
practice of AGNIHOTRA was introduced in their household as a healthy family discipline
which brings in peace, prosperity and harmony. Only in the case of >A< it was
introduced as a tool for de-addiction. In the case of D,E and G practice of AGNIHOTRA was
a choice of their family members and the subjects were merely exposed to its healing and
purifying atmosphere unknowingly without any effort. In the case of F it is interesting to
note that the subject commenced the practice of AGNIHOTRA merely as a spiritual discipline
because that did not clash with his drinking and eating habbits.
|
| 5. After being exposed to Agnihotra-Atmosphere
we observe that a strong feeling of guilt and aversion developed in the minds of the
subjects. |
|
| 6. After realising that the drinking was a bad
vice in Agnihotra-Atmosphere they further developed a resolve and determination supported
by strong will power with which they were ultimately able to stay away from alcohol. |
|
| The vedic psychology states that the human mind
alone is responsible for bondage as well as liberation, depending upon its attitude. Mind
alone can cause attachment and bind the person to material object and vices. It is said
that as long as a person feels that he/she is attached to certain objects, he/she
virtually remains in the bondage. The moment the mind develops strong will power and feels
that it is free the individual is able to liberate himself/herself. It is stated that
Agnihotra-Atmosphere enhances strength of mind. Regular practice of AGNIHOTRA sets in
motion a pure and healing cycle in the household which imparts peace and tranquility of
mind. "AGNI" is said to be purifier and cleanser of mind of its negative and
evil tendencies. It initiates pure and creative thougths. According to Veda, the practice
of AGNIHOTRA gives a strong push to the mind in positive direction and promotes pure
thougths. This atmosphere endows mental peace and tranquility to the whole family. It is
said to impart power of intellect, wisdom, devotion to attain higher goals and physical
strength etc. |
|
| In all the above cases we find that befitting
to the description in the Vedic psychology, the subject have developed the power of
discrimination to discern what is rigth in the Agnihotra-Atmosphere. They then
automatically developed determination, resolve and strong will power to rise above the
vices. Finally, they also developed strong aversion to the vice which has not allowed them
to get back into the unhealthy pattern. Invariably in all the households the practice of
AGNIHOTRA has bestowed peace, prosperity and happiness. |

Recommendation:
|
|
| We strongly recommend that the practice of
AGNIHOTRA should be incorporated in drug and alcohol de-addiction therapies. It should be
made an integral part of the daily routine of the De-Addiction Nursing Homes and centers
run by the Government, private and non-profit organisations. Councilors and
Psychotherapists should prescribe the practice of AGNIHOTRA to their patients to be
performed in their households, too. |
